Registration Open: The 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Shootout: 11/29
Turkey season hits different in Richmond — mostly because we keep adding floorball to it. Last year’s Thanksgiving Shootout started as a fun community idea. This year, it’s officially a tradition.
And registration is now open.
The Shootout returns Saturday, November 29th at 9 a.m. at the Annex, bringing together goalies, skaters, new players, and returning competitors for a full morning of draft-style chaos, bragging rights, and community-built competition.
This tournament is built for fun. Built for development. Built for Richmond.
But mostly?
It’s built for the goalies.
🥅 A Goalie-Powered Tournament
Goalies are the backbone of every team — especially here in RVA. To honor that, the Thanksgiving Shootout flips the script:
**Every goalie becomes a captain.
Every captain gets to draft their team.**
The night before the tournament, goalies select their squads draft-style from the free-agent player pool. It’s a format that’s equal parts fun and strategic — and completely unpredictable in the best way.
And yes — goalies play for free.
The more goalies who sign up, the more teams we build.
We can run 5, 6, 7, or even 8 teams depending on interest.

Players: recruit your goalies. Richmond needs them.
❓ How It Works
Here’s the full rundown:
Player Registration Deadline: Friday, November 28th at 8 p.m.
Early Bird Rate: $25 if you sign up before Sunday 11/23 at 11:59 p.m.
Regular Rate: $35 per player
Location: RCSSC Annex
Format:
4 goalies confirmed (so far) → 4 teams
First 40 players to register are guaranteed a spot (10 per team)
4v4 on the court
Two 15-minute halves each game
Tournament Style: Full round robin → playoffs
And because the Shootout is born from bragging rights, we’re adding accountability:
One camera on each net for the entire tournament.
Saves will be logged. Stats will be posted.
If you’re a goalie, your legend might be forged on film this year.
