Floorball is a fast-paced, indoor team sport played with lightweight sticks and a hollow plastic ball. Two teams of five field players plus a goalkeeper compete on a rink with low boards; the objective is to score by shooting the ball into the opponent’s net. Play emphasizes speed, stickhandling, passing, and tactical movement rather than physical contact—body checking is not allowed. Matches typically consist of three periods, and substitutions are unlimited and made on the fly.
