2025 SSL Week 7 Recap
Week 7 delivered everything that makes Richmond floorball special—teams finding their identity, veterans carrying the load, and a scoreboard that stayed unpredictable until the final whistle.
🐻 Polar Bears 8 – River Dogs 4
This was the breakthrough the Polar Bears had been working toward since opening night. From the first faceoff, the Bears played with urgency, cycling through lines, and finding contributions up and down the roster.
Parker and Matt Sadarangani set the tone early with crisp passing, but it was the Bears’ depth that did the damage. Chris and Brandon each buried multiple goals—sometimes setting each other up, sometimes finishing the play themselves. Assists came from everywhere: Todd, Chris, Matt, and Parker all found the scoresheet. By the third, with the River Dogs still fighting, the Bears pulled away for good with unassisted markers from Chris and Brandon, capping a night where everyone in blue and white played a role.
The River Dogs had their moments—Malaky Cole found the net twice, Dillard chipped in as both scorer and playmaker, and Aylla DeSantiago kept her name in the assist column. But the Bears’ team defense held up when it mattered, shutting down the Dogs’ transition game and finally putting together a full 45 minutes.
Final Score: Polar Bears 8 – River Dogs 4
🦖 Raptors 6 – Rough Riders 6 (Tie)
Game 14 was a showcase for what this league does best—two teams that refused to settle, trading goals, momentum, and defensive stands, all night long.
The Raptors did their scoring the right way: six goals, six assists. Karl, Jeremy, Andrew, Courtney Ray, and Murtaza Raza each scored, with Murtaza finishing with a pair and an assist. Every tally was set up by clean passing, showing the Raptors’ commitment to team-first floorball.
On the Rough Riders’ side, it was the Jeremy-and-Sam show—Jeremy found the net twice, Sam Leone buried four (with Jeremy assisting on most of them), and Jacob Doucette kept the line moving. Every time the Raptors looked set to pull away, the Riders answered back. As the clock wound down, neither side blinked, and the points were split—the kind of tie that feels like a hard-won result, not a missed chance.
Final Score: Raptors 6 – Rough Riders 6 (Tie)
