Atlantic Floorball Open II

Player Guide

The Atlantic Floorball Open II takes place August 22–23, 2026, at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Henrico County, Virginia. For one weekend, take the floorball you already know, add new opponents, standings, a bracket, and something to play for. This guide tells you exactly what to expect.

Tournament Overview

The Atlantic Floorball Open II is a full-court, five-on-five tournament built around the part of recreational sports that keeps people coming back: your team, unfamiliar opponents, competitive games, a result that matters for the weekend, and a story afterward. Richmond players, returning players, regional players, established teams, small groups, and free agents are all part of the field.

We are building both competitive and recreational fields. Final divisions and matchups will be set from the completed registration pool so the tournament can create the strongest and most balanced field possible. If the final numbers do not support two separate divisions, the field will be combined into one tournament format.

Player Eligibility

The tournament is open to players who are 18 years of age or older. Players may select competitive or recreational play when registering. Competitive is intended for players looking for a faster, stronger tournament challenge, while recreational is for players who want meaningful tournament games in a more recreational setting.

Teams and Free Agents

You do not need a complete team before registering. Players may enter with a full team, list a smaller group they would like to stay with, or register individually as a free agent. Richmond Floorball Club will use the registration pool to keep groups together where possible, complete rosters, and form additional teams from available players.

A team must have at least five field players and one goalkeeper, six total players, available to take the court. Current registration is $45 for standard players and $40 for women through August 19 at 11:59 p.m. After that time, registration increases to $55 for everyone.

Tournament Format

The tournament will use full-court five-on-five play with two 20-minute halves. Saturday is built around round-robin tournament games, with results carrying into Sunday playoff, placement, and championship play. Final game totals and bracket structure will depend on the number of teams in the completed field, with the goal of giving every team a real tournament weekend rather than a one-and-done experience.

Schedule

Tournament play is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 23, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Saturday will feature round-robin tournament play, while Sunday will move into playoffs, placement games, and championship play. The complete game schedule and tournament rosters will be published after the final field is set.

Rules

Games will use the core international floorball rules framework established by the International Floorball Federation, with any Atlantic Floorball Open-specific tournament modifications published before the event. Players should expect a structured, officiated tournament built around competitive play, sportsmanship, safety, and keeping the games moving.

Player Check-In

All players must complete event check-in before participating in their first game. Check-in times, first-game information, roster assignments, and any final player instructions will be included with the tournament schedule.
