2026 Events & Travel Outlook

As Richmond Floorball Club continues to grow and gain recognition, we’re beginning to plan for a small number of opportunities beyond Richmond in 2026. This page outlines potential external events and travel opportunities so players and families can understand what may be on the horizon.
All external events are optional and interest-based. Details around participation, costs, and logistics are shared separately for each opportunity as plans are confirmed.

Major External Events (2026)

These events represent established tournaments and national gatherings that RFC may participate in as part of continued player development and community growth.

January 2026 — Texas 3v3 Tournament

Keene, Texas
The Texas 3v3 Tournament is a fast-paced, high-energy way to start the year. Players register individually, and teams are formed by the organizers, making it accessible without the need to assemble a full roster. With short shifts and constant involvement, this format rewards creativity, conditioning, and quick decision-making while offering a relaxed and social competitive environment.

March 2026 — Texas Open

Georgetown, Texas
The Texas Open is one of the longest-running floorball tournaments in the United States and draws teams from across the country. This weekend-long event uses a traditional tournament format with multiple divisions and a higher level of competition. It’s an opportunity for players to test themselves against unfamiliar opponents and represent Richmond on a broader national stage.

June 2026 — USA Floorball Nationals

Chicago, Illinois
USA Floorball Nationals is the premier domestic event on the U.S. floorball calendar. Featuring adult and youth divisions from across the country, Nationals brings together the full spectrum of American floorball. Participation offers a chance to measure progress nationally, gain high-level experience, and connect with the wider floorball community.

Late July / Early August 2026 — Atlantic Floorball Open

Richmond, Virginia
Hosted in Richmond, the Atlantic Floorball Open combines competitive play with learning and development. In addition to tournament matches, the event has featured referee and player development clinics led by USA Floorball staff. For RFC players, this event offers the chance to compete at home, learn from national-level educators, and help showcase Richmond as a growing hub for floorball.

Early September 2026 — East Coast Tournament

Cary, North Carolina
The East Coast Tournament brings together teams from across the Eastern U.S. for a weekend of regional competition. It offers meaningful games against new opponents in a competitive but approachable environment, making it a strong option for players interested in travel competition without the scale or intensity of a national championship event.

Ongoing Regional Collaboration

In addition to the larger events listed above, RFC expects to participate in smaller, informal opportunities throughout the year as we continue collaborating with clubs and emerging organizations in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, and other parts of the Northeast. These may include joint play days, scrimmages, clinics, or low-key tournaments that prioritize connection, learning, and shared growth.
These collaborations are often exploratory and come together on shorter timelines. When opportunities arise, they are shared with the community as details are confirmed.

A Note on Participation

Participation in external events is optional and never assumed. Interest is gathered separately for each opportunity, and expectations are communicated clearly before any commitments are made. Our goal is to grow experience, confidence, and connection—while staying true to the community-first culture that defines Richmond Floorball Club.

Travel & Competitive Selection
When RFC participates in external tournaments or competitive travel opportunities, selections are made with the goal of forming a prepared, reliable, and positive team. Considerations may include consistent participation in RFC programming, demonstrated skill and readiness for the level of play, and the ability to contribute to strong team culture and chemistry. Participation in open or recreational programs does not guarantee selection, and not all competitive opportunities require or involve travel. Any specific expectations, costs, or selection processes are communicated clearly for each opportunity when it is offered.

Inclusion Beyond the Roster
RFC believes competitive opportunities should never fracture the community that builds them. When interest in a travel or competitive event exceeds available roster spots, we make every reasonable effort to keep people connected to the experience—whether by bringing additional players with the group, helping coordinate opportunities to play with partner teams, or involving them in support, training, or event operations. While not everyone may be able to take the floor in every game, no one who wants to be part of the journey is treated as “left behind.” Our goal is to travel and compete as a community, not just a lineup.
